Can I fax in my daughter’s registration?
Yes, you may fax in your daughter’s registration to (434) 982-5212. Please put ATTN Field Hockey. Your daughter will not have a guaranteed spot until we receive the check in the mail. Make sure that you include the registration form, front and back copies of your insurance card and the completed medical form. All of these elements are required to complete the registration process and reserve a spot at camp.
What do I need to bring?
You should bring an alarm clock, toiletries, bed linens, pillow, towels, 8-10 t-shirts, 10 shorts, 10-12 socks, sneakers (cross trainers or indoor soccer shoes, turf shoes (if available), sweatshirt, sweatpants, hockey stick, shin guards, mouth guard and goalie equipment if you are a goalie.
How do I get to camp?
There are directions on the website directly to registration. If you are going to fly or take a train you can contact Carlson Travel for assistance at (800) 366-7553 or email@example.com. There are also taxis available for travel back and froth from the airport.
My daughter is a goalkeeper, does she need to bring her own equipment?
Yes, your daughter needs to bring all of her own goalie equipment.

When is check-in?
Check-in time will be from 2:30-4:30 pm. and will be at Balz-Dobie Dorm. Our first camp meeting will be at 5 pm.

When is check-out?
Check out will be between 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the dorm that each camper stays in, either Balz Dobie or Kellogg.
How do I reach my daughter during camp?
If you daughter does not have cell phone, you can call (434) 249-0520 at anytime during the camp.
What if my child is sick or injured and cannot attend camp, do I get a refund?
Prior to May 1, there is a 50% refund if you have a doctors note. No refunds after May 1.
What is the best airport to fly into?
The best airport to fly into is the Charlottesville (CHO) Airport. The next closest airport is the Richmond (RIC) Airport which is about 1 hr 15 min away.
How do campers get to and from the airport or train station?

Can a camper arrive early? or leave early?
Yes, a camper can arrive up to a day early if need be because of travel purposes. Per NCAA rules there is a $35 fee for each night plus money for meals. Yes, a camper can leave early only if they are picked up by their parent or legal guardian and you must call 434-249-0520 when you are leaving camp.
Are parents allowed to watch?
Absolutely parents are able to watch each hockey session. There are directions the hockey fields on the Web site.
Can I room with my friend?
Yes, you can put in a roommate request when you register for camp.

What is the daily schedule for the campers?
The daily schedule is:
7 - 8:15 a.m.
9 - 11 a.m.
12 - 1 p.m.
1 - 3 p.m.
3 - 5 p.m.
5 - 6:30 p.m.
7 - 9 p.m.
9 - 11 p.m.
Morning session consisting of individual skill, team skills and organized drills.
Afternoon session consisting of small games, for example 7 v 7.
Night games, 11 v 11.
Free time to enjoy counselors, visit camp store and purchase pizza or field hockey apparel.
Lights out and everyone in their own room.
What safety precautions are taken during camp and while my daughter is not playing field hockey?
All staff stays in the dorms with the campers. There will be at least one staff member on each floor of the dorms. There is also a security guard that walks campus 24/7 to monitor dorms.
Who are the coaches?
Absolutely the Best coaches come from around the world. We have coaches from America, Holland, England, Spain and Australia, as well as current U.Va. players.
What happens if my child happens to get injured or sick during camp?
There are medical trainers at camp 24/7 and they aid in any sickness or injury. You will be contacted immediately if it is a serious situation.
My daughter has a car, will she be able to use it during camp?
It is fine if your daughter drives herself to camp, but she will not be able to use her car at all during camp. We will provide a parking pass for her car for a nearby lot.
How are the groups split up each session?
Groups are divided up by age and skill level for the morning and afternoon sessions. For the evening sessions we will keep the high school teams together the best we can. We can also keep high school/club teams together or separate them out by their coach's request.
Can I talk to the coaches of UVA about getting recruited while I am at camp?
Yes, you may speak with the coaches regarding recruiting while at camp, but we may not conduct an unofficial visit while you are here.
If I come to play with my team will I get to play with them the entire camp?
There are 3 sessions each day at camp. The morning session is divided by age, the afternoon session will kept to 8 players per team and the night session we try to keep around 15 players per team. We can also keep high school/club teams together or separate them out by their coach's request.
Who can attend camp?
Absolutely the Best Field Hockey Mini Camps and Overnight camp are open to boys and girls who have completed 4th-12th grade and are of any skill level.
